Consistently improve professional knowledge and competence through continued education, certified hands-on training, as well as compulsory assessment of strengths and weaknesses.
Conduct business activities with moral correctness, integrity and respect not only for the inherent worth of each individual, but also for the profession itself.
Perform treatment protocols only with a dedication to unwavering positivity, soundness of body and clarity of thought.
Refuse to unjustly discriminate or behave negatively toward other businesses, practitioners and different healing strategies but rather, concentrate on brilliantly applying my skills to make each session a truly meaningful and healing experience.
Safeguard the confidentiality of an individual's identity in regard to their private sessions, spa treatments and personal related circumstances - unless the disclosure of identifiable details is requested by that person in writing, is medically necessary or required by law.
Honor the right to treatment by obtaining and recording an informed consent by the private client and/or spa guest, including their assigned advocates, if necessary, before providing the treatment. This consent may be written or verbal and include the disclosure agreement with an acknowledgment of fees.
Respect an individual's right to refuse, modify or terminate treatment regardless of any prior consent given and be cognizant of working for the ultimate good and empowerment of all concerned.
Supply proper draping and considerable preparation for each and every treatment, in such a hospitable manner that it further ensures complete safety with customized comfort and total privacy.
Preserve clear, honest and factual treatment records for a minimum of seven years or in accordance with the administrative protocols of an employer.
Refrain under all circumstances from participating in a sexual relationship, engaging in sexual conduct and permitting sexual harassment to occur with a private client and/or spa guest.
Avoid any self-interest, activity and influence which might be in a direct or indirect conflict with the best interests of a private client and/or spa guest.
Respect an individual’s boundaries and autonomy with regard to their privacy in all circumstantial disclosures, emotional utterances, belief systems and reasonable expectations of professional behavior.
Refuse any gifts, tips or benefits that are intended to influence a referral, decision or treatment and are purely given for personal gain.
Cultivate and manage a professional, hygienic and orderly system, in regard to my personal appearance, demeanor, treatment rooms, workstations, on set or location settings and residential or office visitations.
Maintain professional liability insurance, and with the most respect, exercise the right to deny service or create an appropriate referral for a private client and/or spa guest who might need additional support or alternative assistance.
Uphold the policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations and requirements including, but not limited to the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, California Massage Therapy Council, National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork, as well as the codes of conduct that are mandated by relevant municipal, state or federal laws and employers that I am associated with.
